Call to Arts! Summit IV
Artists Helping Artists
(AHA!) Call to Arts! Summit IV occurs ALL DAY on
Sunday, November 7th at Beverly Garland's Holiday Inn
Universal Studios / Hollywood. The summit includes
international juried art display, music and arts
exhibition, two performance stages, youth arts
exhibition and marketing workshops for musicians, fine
artists, actors and writers. Freedohm
Entertainment will be producing the Main
Performance Showcase which occurs in the Beverly
Garland Theatre.

Artists
Helping Artists (AHA!) and Freedohm Entertainment have
just announced the submission process for the Main
Performance Showcases at the Nov 7 Call to Arts!
Summit IV. Submissions are now being accepted for the
following four (4) showcases which are
occurring on Nov 7. These showcases are offered as
FREE concerts to the attendees of the summit and also
fans of the performing acts. Deadlines for all
submissions is October 22,

ALL
THOSE ENTERING SUBMISSIONS FOR THE MAIN

Young
Artists Showcase - We are looking for
highly talented and innovative young artists ages 8-18
to perform in the Young Artists Showcase at the
Summit. This can include solo performers (tracks ok),
spoken word artists, youth dance troupes, other
special youth acts, etc. We are looking for
compelling, upbeat, positive content and also
performances from a wide range of cultural groups in
the Southern California. Some young artists and young
performing acts may be asked to perform at one
community arts audition / event prior to the Summit on
Nov 7.
Variety
Showcase - We are looking for highly
compelling acoustic bands, world music, multicultural
acts and unique ensembles and performance acts to
perform in our Variety Showcase. These acts should be
playing regularly in the Southern California area and
be able to bring a crowd.
Show
'n Groove Urban Music Showcase - This
unique Freedohm Entertainment and J.M.A. Music
showcase encourages urban performers, rhythm and
blues, spoken word artists and musicians who can
perform freestyle with the Show 'n Groove house band,
The Reason. Cover songs are ok for this showcase.
These acts should be playing regularly in the Southern
California area and be able to bring a crowd. Selected
bands may be requested to perform / audition at a Show
'n Groove session prior to the summit.
Indie
Showcase - We are looking for top Indie
bands, rock, alternative and world music in Southern
California for our Indie Showcase to close the summit.
These bands must have their own consistent solid fan
base and have exhibited exemplary indie spirit through
their promotion efforts, merchandising, marketing and
creativity. This is the performance stage closing
event so we are looking for only the best Southern
California has to offer.
All
submissions should be sent to Performance Selection
Committee, Artists Helping Artists, PO Box 8496, La
Crescenta, CA 91224 no later
than October 22, 2004. The
earlier the better.
Submissions
should include the following: a) press pack on the
artist including bio, dates of recent performances and
accurate numbers of attendees for the act. b)
bio/mission statement of the performer / act. c) a DVD
or video presentation of the artist / act with at
least one live presentation of the act, IF you have
one. (best stuff should be at the beginning of the DVD
or Video.) d) Any available CD. e) $15 submission fee
and review fee made out to Artists Helping Artists
(AHA!). Submissions should also note ON THE OUTSIDE OF
THE PACKAGE, WHICH SHOWCASE YOU ARE SUBMITTING FOR.

Info On Submissions and Performances
All
the music showcases at the Call to Arts! Summit IV are
FREE to the public and also fans of the
artists/performers.
A total number of approximately 50 to 60 acts will be
selected for these performance showcases. All
selections and decisions are made by a Performance
Selection Committee. All efforts are made to include
performers and music from a diverse communities and
cultures in Southern California.
Acts that are selected will be notified beginning in
October for details on performances. Performances will
generally range from 1 piece (about 5 minutes) to 2
pieces about 10 minutes depending on scheduling. Some
troupes, performing acts, and top Indie bands will
receive additional time. All production details for
selected acts for the Summit are coordinated by
Freedohm Entertainment.
Some acts not selected for this Summit may be selected
first for the Call to Arts! Summit V scheduled for
Spring of 2005.
Submissions cannot be returned. Please follow the
above submission process closely. All decisions of the
Performance Selection Committe and all scheduling and
production decisions by Freedohm Entertainment are
final. Any questions about the above submission
